Frequently asked questions
Here are some common questions and answers about Lightwave services

FAQ

Q. Do you provide emcee services?

A. Yes, we are happy to act as emcee for your event, especially at a wedding reception where is may be important to help with the flow of the event; keeping things on track and timely.

Q. Do you ahve back-up equiptment in case of malfunction?

A. While it is rare for our quiptment to fail, we do bring a back-up of everything. As a matter-of-fact, many other DJ companies call us for reantals when their equiptment fails!

Q. Will the music be too loud for the guests to hear one another?

A. No, we are experts and analyze the room acoustics before we set-up. After we set-up, we test the room for hot spots, and adjust accordingly. Our sound does not blast directionally, but rather surrounds the room with smooth theatrical sound.

Q. I am afraid my guests won't dance and my party will be a flop, can you help with my fear?

A. We have quite the reputation for energizing a dance floor. We believe this is a hallmark attribute of a professional DJ. A quick check with some of our refrences (upon request) will ease your concerns.

Q. Would you oppose to staying longer if the event runs over and the guests are having a good time?

A. Absolutely! We always allow for that possibility...and with us, this actually happens quite a bit! After all, if we are doing our job well, everyone will want to dance the night away!

Q. Will you play the music we request?

A. Of course we will! Every client has a planning session with Lightwave where we discuss in detail exactly what you want to hear for your event. THen, using your lead, we will design a complete (and flexible) playlist that suits your event needs!

Q. What do you wear?

A. We take pride in always being clean-cut and neat. Dress slacks, a button-down shirt and a tie are typical for most events. We can dress according to almost any venue.

Q. Do set-up and break-down cost extra?

A. Never.

Q. Do you take requests?

A. Yes, as long as our primary client allows it, and it fits the theme of the event.

Q. Do you take breaks?

A. No.

Q. Do you travel?

A. Love to!

Q. How interactive will you be with my guests?

A. It all depends on the event and your desire. If it's a Mitzvah, school dance, or children's party, we are extremely interactive. If we are entertaining a wedding reception or corporate event, we think it's more appropriate to be a tasteful emcee and run the show...not BE the show!
